Waking Giants

This game was made during the Global Game Jam 2024

On your hike through charming landscapes there is lots to see: cold rivers, lush forests and vast mountains. Nothing could make this little adventure more pleasant. 
But beware! Those wonders of nature are not the only thing on your path towards the next tavern. Deep under the earth, gianst are sleeping peacefully. Your little steps might tickle those ancient creatures and who knows what their thunderous laughter is capable of.

In this Top Down Puzzle Adventure you must complete your hike by strolling through the countryside and reaching the tavern for the night. On your way the sleeping giants react to your behaviour, shaping the landscape anew. Explore different hikeable areas and become a true adventurer.

Some explanations, because we ran out of time to make a little tutorial for the game. Have fun!

Controls
Walking - Left Mouse Click
Camera Movement - WASD

Giant Mechanic - When giants are triggered either 1 or in some cases 2 tiles opposite of where the player entered are triggered.
Tiles Mechanic - When tiles are triggered through giants, they may trigger each other (ex. River destroys Mountain - Mountain tile turns into Grass tile)
And, because we ran out of time, you won the level when you reach the last Sign Post. You can just select the next Level by going to the menu (escape).

Installation Instructions

Download Build_final.7z under "Game Executable".
Open your explorer where you saved the file. Next, extract the Files from the Zip Folder. Now you should have a folder called "Build". You may now open the Build folder and open the executable called "GlobalGameJam24_3".
